Clyde Solar is a trading name of MPS Custom Builds Ltd, based in Linwood. We're joiners, roofers and electricians who fit things for a living.
Why we started
We've built and fitted bespoke work in homes across the west of Scotland for years with our own trades. When we put an off-grid solar and battery system into our own workshop, we saw how homeowners were being sold solar: a two-hour pitch, a discount that vanishes tomorrow, a price range, a deposit before anyone has been on the roof. We reckoned people in Paisley and Glasgow would rather see a drawing and a number, and then decide.
How we work
We design every system for the actual roof and the actual bills. We fit it with our own roofers and electricians, so it's done in a day and there's one company to ring if anything's ever wrong. That's what the 5-year workmanship guarantee is for. All installations are commissioned and certified through our MCS-registered partner, so you qualify for Smart Export Guarantee payments.
Where we are
Linwood, just off the M8 between Paisley and Johnstone. Glasgow, Renfrew, Clydebank, East Kilbride, Hamilton, Motherwell, Kilmarnock and Irvine are daily runs. Ayr, Greenock, Dumbarton and the Vale are regular. Dumfries and Galloway, Argyll and Lochaber are done on planned trips with two or three jobs in the same area.
